Partnerships
Bedford College works
closely with local communities to encourage the developement
of a sustainable society. By providing courses and advice on
sustainability for individuals and businesses we can help the UK to
reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and move towards a low carbon
future.
To highlight Bedford Colleges’ commitment we are a member
of:
Bedford College's
Sustainability Team works with a wide range of external partners to
develop and deliver projects that support sustainable development.
Examples include:
- Part EU Funded projects that:
- Build the capacity of industry to provide
low carbon goods and services
- Help prepare individuals for low
carbon jobs
-LSIS funded projects that help build the FE
and Skills Sector's capacity to support sustainable development.
These include, amongst others, contributions to the preparation of
guidance documents, an assessment tool and learning resources to
support curriculum and leadership developments within Sector
organisations.
Esin Esat, Director of Sustainability
at Bedford College, plays a highly proactive role nationally in
embedding sustainability into the FE and Skills
Sector.
Esin is:
- The Regional Sustainability Advisor for East of England
- Vice chair of the Association of Colleges Sustainability
Portfolio Group
- A member of the Sustainable Development Alliance for Learning
and Skills (SDALS)
- EAUC Members' Advisory Committee member
These roles are in recognition of Esin's contributions
to low carbon industry developments and nationwide action to embed
sustainability into the further education sector.
