Bedford College works closely with local communities to encourage a sustainable society. By providing courses and advice on sustainability for individuals and businesses we can help the UK to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and move towards a low carbon future.

Esin Esat, Director of Sustainability at Bedford College, is a member of the following groups:

Association of Colleges Sustainable Futures Group
Sustainable Development Alliance for Learning and Skills
Education and Community Sustainability Group
Bedford Borough Council’s Sustainability Committee (advisory member)
Esin Esat has been appointed Director of the National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies (NSAET), ad elected as a member of the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC) Members Advisory Committee.

These appointments are in recognition of Esin's contributions to low carbon industry developments and nation - wide action to embed sustainability into the further education sector.
